Jim Tom Perry Jr.'s Obituary
Jim Tom Perry Jr., a beloved resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully departed this life on November 30, 2023, at the age of 93. Born on June 16, 1930, in Tulsa to the late Jim and Pauline Perry, he leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and joy. Jim graduated from Webster High School in 1948, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life devoted to both country and career. Following his graduation, he valiantly served in the US Army during the Korean War, demonstrating unwavering commitment to his nation. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Jim embarked on a successful career at Sun Oil Refinery, where his hard work and dedication earned him respect and admiration from colleagues. He dedicated years of his life to his profession and eventually retired as a Senior Refinery Operations Operator; leaving behind a lasting impact on his workplace.
Beyond his professional life, Jim was a man of diverse interests. An avid reader, he found solace and inspiration within the pages of countless books. In moments of leisure, he could be found on the golf course, where he honed his skills and shared joyful rounds with friends. Fishing, too, held a special place in his heart, providing moments of tranquility surrounded by nature.
Jim Tom Perry Jr. will be remembered not only for his service to his country and dedicated work ethic but also for the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; and his seven sisters, Doris Hart, Sue Cutburth, June Phillips, Jackie Smith, Madelyn Starr, Marilyn Jones, and Dixie Jurney. He is survived by his stepson, Robert Buchanan, and his family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Floral Haven.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Floral Haven Chapel.
