Jimmy Ray Baker's Obituary
Jimmy Ray Baker, son of Laura Ritz Baker and Walter Baker, (Mom and Pop), was born on August 21, 1937 in Tulsa Oklahoma. He attended Cherokee School, Central High school, and graduated from University of Tulsa with a degree in foreign languages. He could speak Spanish, German, French, Japanese and of course English.
He served four years in the Navy aboard the aircraft carriers, Shangri-la and the Hancock. His tours were in the Pacific Ocean out of San Diego CA.
He was lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
He married Jean Ann Bright on August 14, 1963. (story for Eulogy)
Worked at Ford Motor credit; SBA in Oklahoma City; several banks in Tulsa, retiring from the Bank of Oklahoma.
Died at Coweta care and rehabilitation center, Coweta Oklahoma on July 26, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his: parents; his brother, Walter Gene; and sister, Ana Lu Clark; niece Laura (Lolly) Langston; great-nephew Phillp Langston.
He is survived by his: wife, Jean Ann Bright Baker; nephew Bill Clark and his wife Lynn and their children, Stacy and Jason, great nephew Andy Langston, his wife Lynn and their children Madilynn and Meran; sisters-in law Linda Brown and Holly Bright.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home - Rose Chapel
Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens - Veterans Field of Honor
