Jimmy Ray Towe's Obituary
Jimmy Ray Towe, age 76, of Hallett, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on January 30, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1949, on the family farm in Inola, Oklahoma, to Glen and Lola Towe. Jimmy was raised in Inola, where he learned the values that shaped his life—hard work, loyalty, and devotion to family. He graduated from Inola High School in 1967 and went on to build a life rooted deeply in his community.
Ever the workaholic, Jimmy owned and operated Jim Towe Diesel Service serving customers all over Oklahoma while still running his bar. He earned his reputation with long hours, mechanical know-how, and a commitment to doing the job right. If Jimmy said he’d fix it, it got fixed. In the 1990s, Jimmy took a chance and built a bar in Inola called The Wrangler. It was a place full of stories, laughs, and honest work. When the time came, Jimmy heard his last story, poured his last beer, and closed his bar but continued his service business until his health would not allow it.
At home, work never really stopped. Jimmy always had animals around and took pride in raising livestock — pigs, cows, goats, and chickens — tending to them with the same care and grit he brought to everything he did. He wasn’t much for relaxing, but Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and found peace in the time spent outdoors.
Jimmy touched many lives and had many friends. His tough exterior was just a front for his big heart. If you were in his circle, you were in for life. Above all, he was a family man who valued time with those he loved and quietly showed his care through actions rather than words.
Jimmy Towe was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lola Towe, and his brother, Jerry Towe. He is survived by his wife, Freda Towe, whom he married on December 28, 2001; his daughter and grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Gregory, Jemma and Jett; his step-children and grandchildren: Ruby Calhoun, Lillie and Austin Simmons; Aaron (Teresa) Reamy, Hadley, Rhett, Abigail, and Ty. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Harper; his sister, Carol Ann (Glen) McGuire; his sister-in-law, Gayle Towe and several beloved nephews.
Jimmy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his unwavering work ethic, and the quiet, steady way he touched the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on through the many people who loved him and the family he held so dear.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 5 S. Broadway Ave., Inola, Oklahoma 74036.
