Jimmy Young, age 80, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, on January 20, 1946, Jimmy spent most of his life in Wagoner, Oklahoma, where he was known for his quiet nature, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to family.
Jimmy worked for more than 30 years as a machinist for a local manufacturer, living a modest and simple life marked by humility and integrity. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War from October 1965 to October 1967, carrying that service with quiet honor.
A steady presence and true soldier for his family, Jimmy devoted many years to helping care for his sisters, always giving of his time and strength without expectation of anything in return. He truly loved his family and was always there when help was needed.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Johnny Young, his brother Roland Young, and his sister Laura Jane Stuart. He is survived by his sister Mary Jones; his niece Cindy Giddings; his nephew Paul Jones; and nieces Melonie Richard and Patricia Young.
Quiet, thoughtful, and introspective, Jimmy will be remembered for his gentle strength and the selfless love he gave so freely.
