What a great person my Aunt Jo Ann was. In 1969 Aunt Jo Ann & Uncle Roy helped me a great deal when my family life was pretty bad. I will always be grateful for their help. Jo Ann took care of my Dad's funeral for me. Thank you! Love Like Wright

Joanne Minter was our neighbor as I grew up next door . She and Roy were kind to our family -always interested in whatever the "Whelpley kids " were doing . I'm so grateful we got to live life together !!
My very favorite thing about nanny was her contagious laugh! I can just hear it now. She was very much loved and will be sorely missed. She had such a green thumb and I always will admire her for that among other things. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
I remember all the good times we had together. We tried to pass off as twins. We shapparoned your brother and my sister. We sang "Love and Marriage" to them. You were always my best friend through school. I wish that we had made the trip up to see you. You will always be a part of my heart
JoAnn was recently hired at QT when Halloween rolled around and we had a costume party. JoAnn dressed up as a "dirty old man" and Chester Cadieux (president and chairman of the board) spent most of his time at the party trying to figure out who this "dirty old man" was. He quickly determined it was a woman but could not guess JoAnn as she was new to the company and Chester didn't know her yet. So funny and so like JoAnn who would say or do anything. JoAnn was a great friend and co-worker the entire time we worked together. She gave me Iris bulbs and instructed me on how to care for them. I am so sorry to hear about Jo Ann passing away. My husband, Gary (now deceased) and I worked with Roy for years at General Telephone and he was always saying the sweetest and most loving things about Jo Ann so I feel like I know her. With deepest sympathy and friendship, Rita Wentz
I remember all the love Nanny had to give to everyone who came in her house (in her own loving way), and her prized Irises! She was the greatest with those flowers. I also remember as an adolescent her shaking her head at us and saying, "Now what?…I'm surprised you two didn't just race the microwaves and see whose pops the popcorn fastest!" Or something to that effect and us saying, "Why, that's a great idea…I'm surprised we hadn't thought of it yet!" and rushing right to do it! All in all, Joann was one of the greatest supporters and biggest care-givers one could ever know! She loved well and cared deeply to all those of us who got the opportunity to love and understand her. She will forever be greatly missed but forever in my heart!
