Joan Elizabeth Armstrong's Obituary
Joan Elizabeth Armstrong, 69, of Tulsa, passed away July 11, 2021 in Tulsa. She was born July 25, 1951 in Tulsa to William and Kathryn Pummill. A devoted wife, loving mother, kind sister, energetic grandmother and best friend to many. Talented at many sewing techniques and a proficient cook by the end of high school, she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Home Economics. She met her future husband during college, creating countless memories for 48 years through a shared love of golfing, and enjoying time with family and friends. Joan's early years focused on family, supporting her children's many sports and youth activities. A proud thyroid cancer survivor for over 40 years, she put a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, often combining her love of golf with travelling the world to visit her many friends. A devoted runner for many years, she continued prioritizing routine walks with friends as she aged. Her easy going nature lead to numerous life-long friendships cherished by all. In her free time, she spent countless hours volunteering for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the office and at events.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents. Joan is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Christy; sister Susan Pummill of Crossville, TN; daughter Megan Rogers (Michael), of Montgomery, TX; sons Lowell of Alexandria, VA and Matt (Sarah) of Glen Carbon, IL; and grandchildren (Sean, Madison, Isabel, Cooper, Max). Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Parkinson's Foundation.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
