My Condolences to Joanâ??s family. I donâ??t have to know Joan, to understand the great loss you feel. Thatâ??s why I felt compelled to write to offer you comfort from the Bible. Death is unfair and so are people who try to â??comfortâ? us by saying, â??youâ??ll see your loved one in heaven,â? In John 11:20-27, thatâ??s not what Jesus said when he met Martha, the sister of Lazarus, who had died. To comfort Martha, Jesus reminded her of the resurrection, which she did believe. Jesus never said Lazarus was with His father in heaven, or that she would see him there! Jesus was planning to resurrect Lazarus THAT day, and thatâ??s exactly what he did! He promised she would see Lazarus again on earth! Thatâ??s what he promises us!!Earlier that day, In John 11:11-15, Jesus likened death to sleep. We know when we go to sleep we wake up. Death is a sleep we can wake up from, but it will be at the call of Jesus. That ties in with what is said in Acts 24:15 where it says â??there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.â? So, according to the Bible, and what Jesus said, Joan will be returned, in good health, to the earth. I hope that thought brings you comfort. If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
