JoAnn Gordon's Obituary
JoAnn Gordon (maiden name: Weldon) was born in Leslie, Arkansas on June 13, 1932 and went home to be with our Lord On September 6, 2017. JoAnn always placed God first in her life. Her family was very important to her. She was always available and often made sacrifices in order to prioritize those she loved. JoAnn was the matriarch of the Gordon Family. She loved to sing and enjoyed playing the piano. JoAnn was a tireless worker and never shied away from completing tasks others would avoid. JoAnn had the distinction of the title: “Strawberry Queen”, representing the state of Arkansas in her youth. If JoAnn could communicate anything to us today, she would say: “Please do not grieve for me. I lived a very full life. Remember all of the great times we shared. I have passed from this earth, but now I am rejoicing in Heaven with my Jesus!” JoAnn Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gordon; parents Charles Weldon and Irene Sidwell; Sister Billie June Hampton; son-in-law Bob Smith, Uncle Bill Weldon and his wife, Wanda. She is survived by her 3 children: Bill Gordon Jr., Kristie Husmann, and Candra Smith; also grandchildren: Robert (Bear) Smith, Justin Smith, Molly Gordon, and Taylor Gordon; also great-grandchildren: Madalyn, Adyson, Mason, and Jesalyn Smith.
