Joanna White's Obituary
Joanna White Joanna White was born on March 28, 1923 to Walter B. and Winnie Mae Holland in Grove, Oklahoma. She passed peacefully in her sleep from this life after a long illness on May 5, 2011. She had two brothers, Joel and W.B., and four sisters, Louise, Marge and Dottie all who preceded her in death, and a surviving sister Ima. She married Charles White and they had two children, Linda and Larry. Charles and Linda preceded Joanna in death; Larry is a surviving son. Joanna had four grand children, Amy and Alan, Peter and Jenny; and six great grand children, Brandy, Jory and Cody; Gabe, Will and Kate. She grew up and graduated from high school in Coweta, Oklahoma. With young children at home, Joanna was a full time mother and homemaker. When Linda and Larry were older, she worked beside Charles taking care of the customers and the cash register at Ace Shoe Service in Tulsa, the business that Charles owned. She later went on to work as a retail sales representative in the cosmetic departments at Vandever's, Brown Dunkin and John A. Brown; retiring after many years of service. The focus of her family's life however was the church. Joanna was for many years a Sunday school teacher and taught her children about Jesus not only in the church but also at home. Charles served as a Deacon and as an Elder in the church in later years. Her family was very rich. Not with lots of money, but with an abundance of love, trust, faith…and fun.
