Joanne Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on August 3, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 5, 1936, to Paul and Florene Townsend Lee, Joanne lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
Professionally, Joanne served with dedication as a receptionist for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, offering warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path. At home, she was an accomplished seamstress, skillfully crafting clothing for her daughter Pam throughout her school years—a testament to her creativity and love.
Joanne’s heart found its deepest expression in her faith and fellowship. She remained active in numerous church activities and was a vibrant member of Evergreen Church, where her presence and service left a lasting impact on her community.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pamela Field; son, Dennis Randall Jackson; stepchildren, Tonia Thompson and Tony Thompson; grandchildren, Haileigh Courri, Benjamin Jackson, and Emily Reed; nine great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of extended family members and cherished friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon L. Thompson; her son, Billy Charles Jackson, Jr.; and her grandson, Dustin Ryan Palmer.
Her life will be celebrated during a funeral service on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Church in Bixby, Oklahoma, followed by a committal service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
Joanne’s kindness, strength, and faith-filled spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
