Joe Cummins' Obituary
Joseph Sylvester Cummins (Joe, Daddy, Grandfather) 95 years old Resident of Tulsa OK.
Ascended by the angels to be with God on April 6, 2024. Born May 18, 1928 in Wellington Kansas. He graduated from Wellington High School. He received a bachelors from the University of Oklahoma. Married to Wilma Jeanne Cummins May 24, 1952 who is predeceased.
Joe loved life and music. He believed in God, family and work. He enjoyed telling stories of playing football, baseball, and working on the farm with his uncle and cousin. He was proud of his service in the Navy on the USS Leyte aircraft carrier during WWII. He also enjoyed the work he did on the railroads and working with several aerospace industries as an Industrial Engineer. Joe designed and initialed several parts on the Apollo rockets, doors on the space shuttles and parts on the B2 "Spirit" Stealth Bomber and B1 "Lancer" Bomber along with many other aircrafts. He was prideful of designing the architecture of the building on the hill at 41st and Sheridan. He had several hobbies; Ballroom dancing, woodworking, art, gardening, building his model train in the train room, building model ships, playing chess, reading and practicing his clarinet. Joe loved spending most of his time outside enjoying nature listening to birds, feeding the squirrels and looking at flowers with a glass of wine. He was a member of; First Methodist Church in Tulsa, Elks Lodge #946 in Tulsa, Masonic Lodge in Tulsa, docent at Gilcrease Museum, usher at the Spotlight Theater, actor and model at Linda Layman Agency. Joe was very ornery, mischievous, funny and loved to laugh. He loved family, always asking questions about kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He is survived by four daughters: Jeanetta Arnold, Bunny Cline (spouse Mike Cline), Mary Jo Stoops (spouse Darrell Stoops), Susan Dee Cummins.11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Public Viewing for Joe is scheduled on Wednesday April 17th, 2024 from 5pm-7pm. Located at Floral Haven, 6500 S 129 E Ave Broken Arrow, OK, 74012. Funeral Service is graveside on April 18th, Private to Family.

Joe, Daddy, Grandfather was a social butterfly, who would cut a rug anytime he could. He LOVED his family. He had a thirst for knowledge, while passionately discovering information about his bloodline and heritage. He enjoyed creating new things and especially taking time to smell the roses. He shared his passions and values with his family.
His legacy shall live on.
