Joe Dick Purdy's Obituary
Joe Dick Purdy passed away on May 21st, 2018 at 90 years old. He was born on September 28th, 1927. He was born in Spade, TX. Joe was preceded in passing by his parents Sisco and Alma Purdy, sons Richard and Joey Purdy, as well as his brothers Raymond, Dale, Tack and Allen Purdy. Joe is survived by wife Wanna June Purdy, his siblings Bob, Pat, Shirley, Betty Lou, and Loraine; children Beverly Montgomery and her husband Granville Montgomery, Michael Purdy and his wife Llda Purdy, and Todd Purdy; grandchildren Ryan Purdy and his wife Jennifer Purdy, Lacey Purdy, Jessica Hamilton and her husband Josh Hamilton, Jordan Montgomery, Chelsey Mercer and her husband Gary Mercer, Laura Ford and her husband Travis Ford, Brittany Husong and her husband Chris Husong, and Rebecca Montgomery; great-grandchildren Jaiden Purdy, Madisyn, A’myiah, and Athena Montgomery, Landon, Carson, and Ava Ford, Emma Mercer and Michaela Klatt and Ella Purdy as well as numerous family and friends. Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 25 years from American Airlines as a mechanic. Joe’s passions were family, collecting and working cars, and traveling at any chance he could. Anyone that knew Joe knew he was full of jokes, colorful stories, gathering around the table with family and eating great food, but most of all just living life to the fullest. One of our family’s favorites memories growing up was sitting around the table with all of his kids and grandkids playing Skip-Bo. He was such a sneak! Joes laugh was one of a kind and will be miss so dearly. There are not enough words and expressions that could be said to describe how much he was loved and will be missed.Visitation will be Monday, May 28, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
