Joe was a dear friend to me and all of my family. I was one of the members of his pulmonary group at St. John's and we were in the same exercise class for 13 years. Joe was the pulmonary warrior to us, with the most longevity in the program. He was an inspiration to all and was always there to help when needed. He had a welcoming ear to listen, if you needed, and I can't tell you how many times I consulted him to find someone with a needed skill. He had so many clients that he could always name one with the right qualification who was reliable and honest. Our family were clients, too, with four sets of taxes, but it was his love and caring as a friend that we will cherish most. We shared an impish sense of humor (others might have other descriptions of it). Joe could bring laughs, love and joy to whomever was around. Everyone beamed when he came around and missed and worried about him when missing. He was a grand fighter of COPD & his nemesis, emphysema and he was there for anyone who needed him. He was greatly loved and will be missed by so many and I miss him like a brother. Dale Cox and family
