Joe J.C. Thompson's Obituary
Joe “J.C.” Carl Thompson, 77, of Verdigris, Oklahoma, passed away on January 12, 2021 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was born on June 24, 1943 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Willis and Ruby Thompson.
Joe met and married the love of his life Deborah and they spent 45 amazing years together. They had two children Melissa A. Thompson and Christie J. Thompson-Capps. He got to enjoy not only being a grandfather, to Colby Antone and Megan Jennings, but also as great grandfather to Sutton and his twin girls Madison and Huntleigh. Joe had an intense love of fishing and camping. If he were not out on the water, you could find him watching fishing shows and outdoors programs or whatever else caught his attention. He loved taking drives to area lakes and really enjoyed watching the wildlife. He was no fair-weather fan to his OSU Cowboys and loved the Kansas City Chiefs just as much! The Oklahoma City Thunder were his favorite basketball team to root for too!
Joe was preceded in death by his father Willis N. Thompson, his mother Ruby M. Thompson, his stepmother Ruby Thompson, and his brother James J.T. Thompson. Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah Thompson of Verdigris, Oklahoma; Melissa Thompson of Owasso, Oklahoma; Christie Thompson-Capps and Dave of Muskogee, Oklahoma; William Beasley and Kayleigh of Verdigris, Oklahoma; grandchildren Megan Jennings and Robert of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Colby Antone of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brother Dub Thompson and Pauline of Pocola, Oklahoma; sister Irene Mabry of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother Junior Thompson of Poteau, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, starting at 4 PM and lasting until 6 PM. There will be a graveside service the following day on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 10 AM, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Memories.
