Gregg Willcut's Obituary
Joel Gregg Willcut, 62, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Gregg was born October 15, 1962, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Ralph Zane and Donna Jean Willcut.
He graduated from Pryor High School in 1980 and earned his business degree from Oklahoma State University in 1985.
In 1989, Gregg married the love of his life, Sharon Jenkins, on April 22. Together, they raised two sons, Cole and Chad, and shared a marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Soon after college, Gregg co-founded Air Care Services with lifelong friend Jim Kachelmeyer. A gifted communicator and respected businessman, Gregg built lasting relationships with clients-many of whom became dear friends. After Jim's retirement, Gregg continued to grow the company, serving major universities, hospitals, casinos, and businesses across the region.
Four years ago, Gregg was diagnosed with rare appendix cancer and given only three to six months to live. Gregg and Sharon refused to accept that prognosis, facing the battle with faith, courage, and determination. They were some of the strongest people you could ever meet in their fight against cancer. Their fight gave Gregg four more precious years with family and friends—years filled with joy, travel, and treasured moments.
Gregg loved life and embraced it fully. He found joy in traveling to the beach, cheering on the OSU Cowboys, driving his perfectly restored OSU-orange 1966 Pontiac Tempest, and spending time golfing—most of the time beating his brothers, sons, and friends. He was also known for his love of food like no other man. Whether it was tacos, steak, crab legs, or anything delicious, Gregg always found the best spots to eat, and he often began planning his next meal before finishing the one in front of him.
More than anything, Gregg had a heart for people. He was unfailingly positive, quick with encouraging words, and a strong witness for the love of Jesus, eager to share his faith with anyone he met. Anytime friends or family were in need, he was the first to help.
Gregg is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Willcut; sons Cole and Chad Willcut; sister Sherry Holmes and Chris of Edgefield, South Carolina; brother Troy and wife Zenda of Claremore; brother Rick and wife Terri of Bixby; father-in-law Lynn Jenkins of Broken Arrow; brother-in-law Wayne Jenkins and wife Cathy of Fort Worth, Texas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews from West Virginia to Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Donna Willcut, and his mother-in-law, Miriam Jenkins.
Gregg will be remembered for his generosity, humor, faith, love of family, and the remarkable strength with which he faced life's challenges.
A visitation to come and pay respects to Gregg will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4PM till 7PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of Gregg's life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11AM at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family has encouraged attendees to wear OSU attire if possible.
