Adsit, John Paul's Obituary
John Paul “Larry John” Adsit, 59, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Tulsa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John was a man full of life, laughter, and adventure. Known by many as “Larry John,” he had a mischievous spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a heart that was always willing to help others. His favorite saying, “You gotta be kidding me,” became something family and friends will forever hear in his voice and remember with a smile.
Some of John’s proudest moments in life were centered around his family. He cherished the births of his children and grandchildren, and he was especially proud when his son Jeffrey graduated from the Marine Corps. One unforgettable experience he often spoke about was attending the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Experience driving school, which perfectly matched his love for engines and speed.
John loved spending time outdoors and doing the things that brought him joy. He enjoyed riding his Harley, boating, fishing, camping, drinking sweet tea, and working on anything with a motor. He was also a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. In quieter moments, he enjoyed listening to the Unashamed podcast by the Robertson family.
He was involved with the organization “Not Find Bigfoot,” where he served as Lead Investigator, bringing his curiosity, humor, and adventurous personality into something he truly enjoyed.
John is survived by his loving wife, Carla Adsit; his children Jeffrey and Martika Adsit, Lita Adsit, and Lane Adsit; his brothers Jerry and David; sisters Helena, Audrey, and Amber; and his beloved grandchildren Adrian, Luke, Maverick, Saya, Addie, and Rhett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and June Adsit; his sister Cheri; and his grandson Dakota.
John’s favorite Bible verse was from Book of Lamentations 3:31-33:
“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.”
Though his family grieves this tremendous loss, they take comfort in the love, laughter, and memories John leaves behind. His adventurous spirit, helping heart, and unforgettable personality will never be forgotten.
Services will be held at a later date.
