John Boyd Simmons' Obituary
John Boyd (J.B.) Simmons, a resident of Tulsa, passed away June 16, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born January 6, 1929 to Porter G. and Mildred A. (Catlett) Simmons in Portsmouth, Virginia. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Mildred Simmons; brother and sister. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Linda Lou Simmons of the home; son, Joe Warren Coppinger and wife, Candace; niece, Barbara Herndon; grandchildren, Patty Fredrickson and husband, John and Cassidy, Caitlin, Joseph and Cheyenne. Family will greet friends, Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Floral Haven Funeral Chapel in Broken Arrow. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Hope Worship Center with Pastor Scott Olson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Field of Honor. Pallbearers will be Carl Schneider, John Cooper, Bill Mason, Mark Turner, Chad Turner and Peter Fritz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Connor Schneider and Bill Ward. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
