John Leroy Brown's Obituary
John LeRoy Brown passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2012 after a short illness. John to some and LeRoy to others, he was born on June 11, 1938 at Morningside (now Hillcrest) Hospital to Virgil Sr. and Mabel Williamson Brown. He graduated from Berryhill High School in 1958. After graduation John joined the Army and rose to the rank of Sergeant E5. He proudly served his country as a Member of the 3rd Infantry Division during the Cold War. After discharge from the Army he met and married the love of his life Mary Coffey. They had 3 children Matthew, Betsy and Heidi. John was employed by Sun Oil West Tulsa Refinery as a heavy oil gauger for 40 years. John is survived by his adoring wife of 48 years, Mary, son Matthew, daughter Betsy Hardesty and husband Kevin. Also, brother Virgil Brown and wife Lorraine of Titusville, Florida; sisters Deloris and husband Pat Childers of Skiatook; and Angie Gary of Springdale, Arkansas. Preceded in death by daughter Heidi Brown, mother Mabel Brown, and father Virgil Brown Sr. Funeral services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Monday, November 26, 2012, at 12:30 pm.
