John Elton Cramer's Obituary
John Elton Cramer, 76, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, kindness, and unwavering patriotism. Born July 6, 1949, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Leon Elton and Marion Matilda (Haney) Cramer.
John lived a life defined by dedication—to his country, his work, his community, and the people he loved. He proudly served in the United States Army for 35 years, retiring from the Army after a long and distinguished military career as a Sergeant First Class E7 - Drill Sergeant. Never one to sit still, he went on to retire a second time after 30 years with Superior Linen Service. Even in retirement, John continued serving others, working security at the Expo Fairgrounds for many years and becoming, in the eyes of his neighbors, the unofficial “neighborhood security guard.”
On May 10, 1986, John married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Hope, in Tulsa. Together they built a life filled with laughter, faith, and family. John was a man who truly never met a stranger. He loved talking with people, friends, family, and anyone who crossed his path. His warm personality, easy smile, and genuine interest in others made him unforgettable.
John enjoyed the simple joys of life: riding his motorcycle, cruising in his 1970 Ford Fairlane, dancing, walking, biking, mowing, and spending time outdoors. He loved his church, his community, and above all, his family. His patriotism was a defining part of who he was, and he carried deep pride for his country throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patty Cramer; his children, Autumn Brennon and her husband Grant, Beau Cramer, Julie Smith and her husband Tim, and Chris Millea and her husband Roger; and his grandchildren, Aubrey Acuff, Ashli Millea, Michael Millea, Cora Cramer, Egan Cramer, and Walter Cramer. He is also survived by his siblings, Rose Reiber and her husband Dave, Bonnie Steck and her husband Earl, and Mary Hoovler and her husband Ralph; his brother‑in‑law, Howard Clark; his sisters‑in‑law, Janey Hope and Thomas Hyatt, Carolyn Regen and her husband Michael, and Jackie Hope; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Marion Cramer; his sister‑in‑law, Janice Clark; and his brother‑in‑law, David Hope.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor a remarkable man who gave so much of himself to others.
John will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, his steadfast spirit, and the way he made everyone feel like a friend. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
