John Wayne Engel Jr.'s Obituary
John Wayne Engel, Jr., 68 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at home in Tulsa. He was born January 26, 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado to his parents, John Waldo Engel and Doris Mary Engel.
Most people remember John when / if they met him; there were no strangers! John enjoyed spirited, detailed conversations and was quick with a hearty, contagious laugh. He loved those who were close with all he had. John was brave enough to be himself; understanding his strengths and shortfalls.
John was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the Navy and received several medals, ribbons and commendations.
He loved playing pool; fishing, firearms, antiques and tools. John was a talented mason, a trade he learned from his father, John W. Engel.
John's presence, his energy, his laughter, hugs and love will be sorely missed by those who loved him; his beloved fur baby Wally misses his nightly cuddles immensely; but seems to know.
I would say rest in peace, but he is likely having an overdue conversation with his Dad, Grandparents and friends who were waiting for him.
We love you, John.
John is survived by his son, John Wayne Engel, III of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his mother, Doris Engel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Stella Minor of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Courtney Fallon of Sebastian, Florida; his ex-wife, Angela Diggle and her husband William of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his nephew, Christian Mihkail Fallon and his wife Lorena (and soon to be, a niece that will hear stories and see pictures of her Uncle John) of Riviera Beach, Florida; Wally (his beloved fur baby) and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, John Waldo Engel.
Memorial service pending.
