John P Ferguson's Obituary
John P. Ferguson was born August 3, 1937 in Hatfield, MO and passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Highlands in Owasso, OK at the age of 77. He was born in Hatfield, MO to John M. and Genevieve (Hall) Ferguson. The family moved to Enid, OK in 1945 where John graduated from Enid High School in 1955. He attended Phillips University for two years. He and Margaret Cunningham were married in 1957 and moved to Tulsa for John to attend Tulsa University. John was active in several business organizations. He was past president of Tulsa Sales and Marketing Executives. Tulsa Executive Association, and the Tulsa Jaycees. He owned Brookside Flowers, Boston Flowers, and Wildwood Florist Shop, all in Tulsa. John was involved in Boy Scouts of America with his two sons, and also active in Tulsa Central High School Band and was co-president for five years of the Band Parents Organization. John was an active member of Christview Christian Church in Tulsa, and attended First Christian Church of Owasso. He preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Frances M. Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Margie, of the home, two sons, Don Ferguson and wife Jeanne, of Boosier City, LA, John Ferguson and wife, Beth, of Sand Springs, OK, two daughters, Denise Ferguson of Boosier City, LA and Dianne McCarthy of Owasso, OK. John is also survived by four grandchildren: Megan Ferguson of Owasso, Tony McCarthy and wife, Kim, of Bentonville, AR, Shane McCarthy of Owasso, and Jacob Ferguson of Sand Springs, OK. One brother, Dallas Wade Ferguson and wife, Janice of Florida also survives, and one sisiter-in-law, Jackie Ferguson of California, along with two nieces, Sandy Ferguson Osoinach of Georgia and Felicia Ferguson of Florida, and one nephew, Michael Ferguson of MN.
