John G. Kaczynski's Obituary
John Gene Kaczynski, 89, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on December 17, 2016 peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and under the care of Saint Francis Hospice. John was born February 13, 1927 in Stringtown, Oklahoma.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Kaczynski, his stepbrother, Frank Kaczynski and his loving parents Dona and Steve Kaczynski.John graduated from Henryetta High School in Henryetta, Oklahoma from the Class of 1945. He then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.John was a disabled American Veteran having proudly served his country in the Army, Air Force, and Air National Guard, during World War II and the Korean Wars.After being honorably discharged, he began a 38-year career at the Maintenance and Engineering Center of American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a licensed mechanic. John enjoyed his family and playing golf at Indian Springs Country Club in the “Lunch Bunch”. He also loved to have breakfast with his high school buddies, the Henryetta Hens, regularly, until the group became too small to meet. John was an active member of Broken Arrow Senior Center where he found several other American Airlines retirees and made many good friends.John is survived by his wife, Margaret Kaczynski; three daughters, Carolyn McGhay (Jim) of Tulsa, Karen Watkins (Peter) of Tulsa, and Cathy Staats (Charlie) of Springfield, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Floral Haven Chapel, Broken Arrow, with Pastor Jerry Hauser officiating. Burial and military 21-gun salute open to all.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broken Arrow Senior Center in memory of John Kaczynski.
