John Henry Wright's Obituary
John Henry Wright was the last child born to Minnie Lee (BROOKS) Wright and Henry Wright on November 25, 1937, in Scott, Arkansas. the name John means “God has been gracious” and this was evident because he survived two tours of duty in Vietnam and he also lived five years after being diagnosed with cancer. John fought his final battle on December 7, 2013. In 1957, John graduated from Booker T. Washington School in Haskell. He joined the army in 1961 and served for over 17 years. He retired in San Antonio, Texas, in 1979. He will be remembered as a person who never complained. He was honest, hard-working, kind, and easy-going. Classmates remember him as a good basketball player. John was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and Henry Wright; brothers, Percy and Curtis Wright and maternal grandmother, Susie Ford. John leaves to cherish his memory; sisters Hester Lindsey (Youngstown, OH) and bertha Alexander (Tulsa, OK), wife, Erika Wright (QLD Australia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family of John H. wright acknowledges with sincere appreciation, all of your prayers, calls, kind words and other acts of kindness. A special thank you to the class of 1957.
