John Keith Howley's Obituary
John Keith Howley passed away, surrounded by family, on October 7th, 2023 at the age of 58 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time of his death, he worked for Airgas in the accounts receivable department. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. John was born the youngest of four children on September 2nd, 1965 to Donald and Flora Howley in Anaheim, California. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1972 where he met his future wife in 2nd grade at Grissom Elementary School. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1984 and studied avionics at Spartan School of Aeronautics. John loved to play his guitar, read, shop, and cook. He was creative and artistic, writing songs on his guitar and painting with his sister on Sundays. His family describes him as big-hearted, humble, laid back, easy to talk to, a good listener, kind, tender hearted, and one of the "Gentlest Giants". He was a loving uncle, whom his niece and nephews could always connect with. He approached every conversation with them without judgment and always had only love and kindness to give. Uncle John was a constant in their lives. He loved his family more than anything and would do anything for anybody. He was an excellent husband, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. He was also an amazing “Pop-Pop” to his two rescued dogs. John is survived by his wife, Carrie Howley; siblings, Brian (Sandy) Howley, Diane (Tim) Harris, David Howley; nephews and niece, Steven Howley, Matthew Howley, Daniel (Molly) Montoto, Anna (Jorge) Bracho; and great-nephews, Leo Bracho and Luca Bracho. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Flora Howley. John’s life will be celebrated Saturday, October 14th, at the Upstate 918 Farm, 2216 Bixby Road, Mounds, Oklahoma at 1pm. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tulsa SPCA (tulsaspca.org/donate).
