John Edward Longwith's Obituary
John Edward Longwith, Sr. died on October 23, 2025. John was born on September 28, 1947 at home in Dustin, Oklahoma to Martha Josephine Longwith and Ralph Gardner Longwith.
John graduated from Midwest City High School in 1965 and attended Oklahoma University prior to enlisting in the United States Army for three years. He was in the Signal Core and stationed in Italy.
John married Nancy Ruth Dinkel Longwith in 1969 and has been married for 56 years.
John was a member of the GWRRA (Gold Wing Riders Association Chapter “D.”) John loved camping with his Kwik Kamp and touring the United States with his friends and spouse. When his motorcycle group dissolved, he changed his travel hobby to RVing on vacations around the United States. John was a former member of GCMRA (Green Country Model Railroaders Association) for many years until his health would no longer allow him to attend. He loved model railroading and did that all his life starting as a child with his father and brother.
John has been a resident of Brookdale Broken Arrow Assisted Living since his health declined. He was known there as their “dog sitter” when a resident was in the hospital. He loved animals.
John is survived by his wife, Nancy, son, John Edward Longwith, Jr. and son and daughter-in-law Joe Gardner Longwith and Teresa Sanchez Longwith, all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. John has four grandchildren, Marissa Nicole Longwith, Grant Nathan Longwith, Joshua Edward Longwith, and Evan Joseph Longwith. John is also survived by a brother, Joe Longwith, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, John had a close relationship with his cousins Claude Martin (Junior) and Paula Baker of Dustin, Oklahoma and Carolyn Jo Richmond of Wetumka, Oklahoma and he would spend his summers in Dustin, OK with them. Also surviving John are his cousins, Judith Longwith Bates of Roanoke, Texas, Vickie Longwith Clark of Dallas, Texas and Jana Longwith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He spent his summers in Dustin, OK with his cousins, Claude (Junior), Paula & Caroline Jo.
Visitation will be 6–8, Friday, October 31, 2025 at Floral Haven located at 6500 S. 129th E Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Services will be held at Floral Haven at 10 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
