John Martin's Obituary
John Dale Martin, 69 went to be with the Lord, Wednesday April 22, 2009. He was born on December 20, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri to the late John Thomas and Maxine Valere (Lemons)Martin. He attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Drury College, Springfield MO., Spartan School of Aeronautics and Aircraft and Engine Trade Schools. John Dale was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cleta Jayne Martin; daughter Trena Jayne Person and husband Mike;grandaughters Kaely Ranae Person and Brandi Marie Person, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma;and a host of other family and friends. John Dale was a longtime member of Glenwwood Baptist Church in Tulsa OK. where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Millennium Masonic Lodge, the Tulsa Scottish Rite and Akdar Shrine Greeters Unit. He won the National Championship Title (which included all of the U.S. and Canada) in Roller Skating Dance routines and over 60 medals, awards and trophies in team and freestyle roller skating competition. John Dale served in the national guard (45th Infantry for 6 years including 6 months active duty. John Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, and love of travel. The family would like to thank the many caring doctors and nurses who have cared for John Dale. A Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 27,2009 at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Reeves officiating the family will recieve friends on Sunday April 26, 2009 from 2-4 P.M. and also 30 min prior to the service on monday.
