John Greg McCormick's Obituary
John Greg McCormick, age 66, passed from this life on March 30, 2026, in Inola, Oklahoma. He was born on April 28, 1959, in San Diego, California, to John William McCormick and Nancy Sue (Wallis) McCormick.
John lived with a gentle simplicity that made room for the beauty of the world around him. He found joy in the beautiful wonders of the world, being able to photograph Gods creation, a good meal, a quiet moment, and he carried a deep appreciation for gospel.
He was blessed with the opportunity to travel, and his journeys to Hawaii and Israel were among the highlights of his life. With a camera in hand, John had a natural gift for photography, able to see and preserve moments of beauty that others might overlook. His talent was recognized when his Hawaiian photographs were published in a tourist magazine, a milestone that brought him great pride.
John also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially a good cheeseburger or a slice of pizza. But above all, he cherished sharing the Gospel. Preaching was not just something he did; it was something he lived. His faith was central to who he was, and he held it close to his heart throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry McCormick, and his niece, Olivia Jewell Burklin.
John is survived by his son, Nate McCormick, and Nate’s mother, Yamit Galit Ha Levi Dotan. He is also survived by his parents, John and Nancy McCormick; and his siblings: Susan Tindell and her husband Scott, Todd McCormick and his wife Ann, Jennifer Bush and her husband Michael Bush, and Joshua McCormick.
John leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Tyler, Jackson, Logan and his wife MaKayla, and their children Hadlea and Carter; as well as Sabrina, Brandi, Jeremy, Matthew, Kateland, Bailey, Michael, Ivan, Patrick, Brittany and her husband Dr. Clayton, Tatum, Sophia, Amelia, and Evelyn.
He is also remembered by numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish their time with him.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10am at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
