John Edmond Philips' Obituary
John Edmond Philips passed away January 16th, 2016 at the age of 82. John was born July 29th, 1933 in Charleston, AR. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and a graduate of University of Tulsa. He began his career at First National Bank Tulsa in 1955 as a computer programmer and became the Vice President of Operations and Data Processing at F & M Bank in 1963. He retired from St Francis Hospital in 1998 after 18 years in Information Services. John was a member of Will Rogers United Methodist Church and actively served for over 50 years. He enjoyed traveling, golf and was an avid card player. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Hazel Philips, and siblings. He is survived by his wife Elma Philips of 53 years; son, Jerry Hodges and his wife, Becky; son, Sam Hodges and his wife, Laura; daughter, Donna Smith and her husband, Steve and 9 grandchildren, Weston and Turner Hodges, Gabrielle, Sean, Stefan Hodges, Josh, Bethany, Ryan and Jonathan Smith. Services will be held at Will Rogers United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to Will Rogers UMC food pantry 1138 South Yale, Tulsa, OK 74128.
