In Loving Memory of John William Reeves
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John William Reeves, born on November 28, 1931, to Clarence Albert and June (Clark) Reeves in Charlottesville, Indiana. He passed at the Journey Home, Bartlesville, OK on January 22, 2024.
John graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1950. He worked 37 years for Delco Remy, division of General Motors in Anderson, IN where he also graduated from Vocational Training Institute in 1955 as a Tool and Die Maker. After retiring from GM, he traveled to Italy to oversee the production of a machine he had designed for a plant in Georgia. Moreover, he also was an instructor at the Albany Technical School in Albany, Georgia for several years. John served in the U.S Navy and was honorably discharged. He was very proud to serve his country.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and a grandson.
He leaves behind his sweetheart of 72 years, Gladys (Couch) Reeves. Together they had four children: Tim (Robin) of Indiana, Carla (Dave) Ruark of Oklahoma, Bruce (Carol) of Missouri, and Greg (Kim) of Indiana. John was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Joe Reeves, Indiana.
Services will be held in Wilkinson, Indiana at a later date. Once a date has been confirmed, it will be made available here on John's tribute page.
