John Edwin Sherman's Obituary
John E. Sherman passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John was born on February 24, 1925 in Richmond Hills, New York to John Howard and Clara (Wurlzer) Sherman. John was married the love of his life, Mary Jane Brown on October 09, 1954 in Jamacia, New York. They welcomed their first child Robert Wayne on May 13, 1958, their second child John Steven on January 12, 1960 and their daughter Geralyn Claire February 26, 1963. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1977 where they made Tulsa their home.
John was employed by Getty Oil Company. John and Mary loved to travel and would vacation every year in Hawaii.
John and Mary were married 66 years until Mary's passing on October 29, 2020.
John will be dearly missed by his (3) three children Robert and wife Anne, John and wife Tracie, and Geralyn Crenshaw and husband Rick all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. John also leaves behind (6) six grandchildren: Robert Sherman Jr. and wife Lindsay, , Jessica Wahlberg and husband Ryan, Amanda Schultz and husband Nathan, Danielle Sherman, Cassey Penny and husband Jeremy; and Caleb Sherman and wife Lindsey; and great-grandchildren: Carter, Aubree, Jack, Emma, Sophia, Autumn. Amora, Boston, and Dayton. John is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife: Mary Jane Sherman, and grandson Shannon Crenshaw.
Visitation will be held 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Sunday, January 05, 2025 at Floral Haven Visitation Suites in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM, January 06, 2025 at Floral Haven Rose Chapel in Broken Arrow.
