John Wayne Stone's Obituary
John Wayne Stone, 70 of Broken Arrow, OK, and formerly of Hagerstown, MD went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine (Hurd) Stone. Born in Clear Spring, MD John was the son of the late Millard (Gene) E. Stone Sr. and Virginia (Ginny) M. Stone. John graduated in 2005 and 2007 from Rhema Bible Training Center and was a member of Rhema Bible Church in Broken Arrow, OK. John was a former employee of Western Maryland State Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. John loved the Lord, his family, singing, Scale Model cars, and as all who knew him can attest to, all things Batman. John could take a basic model car and turn it into a work of art by adding carpeting and trim that would match that model car as if it came off a showroom floor. John is survived by siblings Sandra L. Martin (Marty) of Sebastian, FL, Millard (Gene) E. Stone Jr. (Barbara) of Hagerstown, MD, Roger Dale Stone (Joan) of Cherokee, AL, Linda D. Clark (Terry) of Englewood, FL, Lisa S. Reeder (Robert) of Greencastle, PA, and Cheryl L. Barger (Jim) of Charlestown, WV as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by one brother, Donald L. Stone. John also leaves behind very special friends who were a blessing to him in their help and care, Richard Cannon and David Wells along with his wife Sara. Services for John will be held in Hagerstown, MD and will be announced at a later date. John’s greatest wish is that all who have not come to the Lord will find their way to come kneel at the foot of the cross.
