John Anthony Venturella's Obituary
John Anthony Venturella, a man of faith, music, and international expertise, passed away on May 14, 2024. Born on May 2, 1940, John lived a life filled with service, creativity, and adventure.
John was a devout follower of Christ and dedicated his life to ministry. He often told people he worked at Jesus Christ, reflecting his deep commitment to his faith. He was particularly proud of his trips to the retreat Cursillo and his walk to Emmaus with the Methodist Church.
Beyond his religious devotion, John was a man of many talents. He had a passion for music, loved to sing, and was in the process of writing music for a musical titled “Say Yes!” His love for music also extended to collaborations with Patty Thompson on musicals and Debbie Barker on praise and worship music.
John’s life was a testament to his love for exploration and service. There wasn’t a place you could name that he didn’t respond with, “Oh, I lived there once.” He lived in five countries, visited Russia three times, and resided in approximately 80 or more cities. His international expertise was reflected in his professional life, where he served as the Vice President of International Affairs for an IT Company.
His desire to help others was evident in his various roles. He was a co-founder of Stand in the Gap Ministries, a Care Coordinator for The Bair Foundation, and a mentor to teenagers in crisis with Life Launch.
John Anthony Venturella will be remembered as a man who embraced life in all its diversity. His legacy of faith, music, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him. His life was a testament to saying “Yes!” to every opportunity and living life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his fiancé, and love of his life of 20 years, Kay Whitson; his children Marc and Megan Venturella; Lisa Dill; and Michael and Abby Venturella; grandchildren Jason and Chrystle Dill; Victoria Dill; Nicholas Dill; Joshua and Demi Dill; Emmaus Dill; Kenzo Venturella; Maddy Venturella; Gio Venturella; and Nico Venturella; and great grandchildren Cianna Dill; and Eeva Dill; and his sisters Tina Korb; Glorian Venturella; and Carol Behar; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss and remember him.
John is reunited with his parents Joseph and Frances, and his granddaughter Grace Caroline Dill and best friend Joe Felts.
The family would like to thank The Country Club at Woodland Hills especially Michael, Penny, and Jackie; as well as the staff from Millennium Home Health Care especially Marty, Natalie, Barbara, Jeremy, and Theresa.
