John Franklin West's Obituary
John F. West, also known as “Johnny, Dude, & Poppy John” left this earth on April 2, 2014, to move to his heavenly home, where he will join family & friends who have gone before him. Celebration of Life: Saturday, April 26, at 12:30pm,at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel, Broken Arrow, Okla. John West was born February 7, 1925, in Windom, Texas. He moved to Oklahoma when he was adopted by his Uncle Jim. After graduating from Central High School, (Oklahoma City) in 1943, he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and The Korean War. He later attended The University of Oklahoma, where he received a degree in geology. He had a long career in the Oil and Gas Industry, and retired from Dyco Petroleum at 65. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Betty Dell Stevens-West, and his son Bradley James. John leaves behind his daughter; Kathy Jo Lucarelli, husband Scott. His granddaughers; Molly Cline,husband Jeff; Shandra West; and Gabriella Lucarelli. Great-granddaughters; Jaycee and Gracyn Cline. And niece Elizabeth Blankenship, husband Jim. He will be greatly missed by all.
