Rhonda Jean Williams (Mcbrien)
I, our daughter and her precious daughter all owe our very existence upon this earth to this great Doctor! I’m not proud of my story but am going to share it in honor of this special and kindly man. I once called his dear wife and asked her if she would let him know I called to thank him for all three (so far) of our lives. I have no doubt she did she was so sweet! I regret not trying harder to thank him personally (live in Texas). When I was 14 yrs. old I was brought to the emergency room/hospital by friends, but after several measures was officially pronounced deceased, my parents arrived and were informed. My mother tells of the big steel doors opening and of most of the doctors and nurses coming out saddened and of the announcement to my family and friends. But she tells how another nurse came out shaking her head and when my mom looked in she saw a doctor crying and pounding on my body (all alone) talking out loud, she said my feet were flying up in the air and then…the big steel doors opened again and they were all called back in. Honorable Dr. John Whalen had just saved my life by getting my heart beating again! My gratitude will extend through all eternity! This man was a GREAT doctor! This part of my thankyou is for his dear daughter – The next day was the only time I ever got to meet him, he came in briefly and was mad at me because of how I nearly lost my life, he gave me a very heartfelt talking to and then told me the reason he couldn’t let me die was his love of his own daughter! That he had a daughter that was just a few years younger than me and he just couldn’t let me go! His intense love for you helped him not give up on my life. Thank you. I hope this truth makes you warm and smile! I thank our heavenly father and all the ancestors that led to Dr. John’s creation, his family and all the other people that were involved in saving my life! Thank you forever!
