John William McCorkel II's Obituary
John W. McCorkel, II was born on May 17, 1973 on Wiesbaden German Air Force Base. Growing up in a military family allowed him to live in many places including: England, Texas, California, Washington, and Louisiana. His parents settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1984. John grew up there and graduated from Eastern Avenue Christian High School in 1991. He married the love of his life, Mary Suzanne McCorkel on August 21st, 1995. They recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. He welcomed the birth of his first child Madison in 2000 and his son Parker shortly after in 2003. He was an avid runner and enjoyed vacationing with his family. He especially enjoyed watching his kids during their soccer games. His main passion was spending time with Suzanne, Madison, and Parker. After establishing his family, John went back and pursued his college degree from Mid America Christian University in 2004. There he earned a degree in Information Technology. He began his career with United States Postal Service as a city letter carrier in Oklahoma City in 1998. This led him to a successful management career within the USPS. John went into management in 2004. In 2009, John accepted a management position in the Tulsa division and commuted for nearly a year from Oklahoma City before moving his family to Broken Arrow in 2010. His 15 year career led him to several promotions within the last several years. John is survived by his wife Suzanne (Broken Arrow), daughter Madison, and son Parker of the home, his parents John W. & Florence McCorkel (Oklahoma City), brother & sister-in-law Jeff & Kim McCorkel (Purcell), and host of extended family. Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM, Monday, November 4, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, Tulsa.
