Jolene R. Potter's Obituary
Jolene Rose Potter passed away September 11, 2014 with her family and close friends at her side. Jolene fought a long battle with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare, aggressive cancer. She was 32 years old, born on February 7, 1982 to Rocky Joe Potter, Sr. and Dolly (Dorathea) Anne (Kuehl) Potter in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Jolene and her sons Rylan Josef Potter, 12 years old and Nathanial (Nate) Corey Ray Potter, 5 years old had resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jolene grew up in Green River, Wyoming with her sister Corene Elizabeth Anne Potter-Mullen and brother Rocky Joe Potter, Jr. She enjoyed playing with her siblings and neighbors, camping and fishing in the mountains, exploring and rock hunting in the desert, and spending time at the Flaming Gorge. As an adult, Jolene’s life revolved around her sons as they participated in activities such as football, soccer, and chess club. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Gardner Godfrey and Ethel Rosalie (Bartlett) Potter and aunt Narlene Gay (Potter) Santuff, and maternal grandfather Wallace Bendix Kuehl. Jolene is survived by her parents Rocky and Dolly Potter of Green River, Wyoming; sister Corene (Cori) Potter and partner Scott Joseph Taylor of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother Rocky Jr. and wife Jessilyn (Garner) Potter of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and her sons Rylan and Nate Potter. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Mary Elizabeth (McDonald) Kuehl of Dillon, Colorado, five nieces Emily Rosalie Mullen, Charlie-Anne Renee Mullen, and Breezy Donna Mullen of Grand Junction, Colorado; Brooklyn Rose Potter and Jade Anne Potter of Rock Spring; and by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A service will be held on Monday September 15 at 10:00 at the Abba Compassionate Ministries located at 1307 W 22nd Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as a Celebration of Life in Green River, Wyoming at a place and time not yet to be determined.
