Sgt. Jon M. Johnson
August 28, 1947 - November 21, 2025
Sgt. Jon Michael Johnson, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on November 21, 2025. Born on August 28, 1947, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jon was the son of Otto and Bonnie Johnson and grew up in Tulsa, where he developed the values of service, faith, and devotion that guided his life.
At age 18, Jon enlisted in the U.S. Army, a commitment he cherished deeply. He served with honor in Vietnam as part of the 1st Air Cavalry Division and attained the rank of sergeant. His military service remained one of his proudest accomplishments.
Following his time in the Army, Jon continued his dedication to service as a Deputy with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department. He later began a long and fulfilling career with American Airlines, retiring in 2010 after 28 years of loyal service.
Jon is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Johnson; his sons Adam Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Michael Johnson (Connie); stepdaughters Amy Torvik (David), Jennifer Fisher (Allison), and Lindsay McSperitt; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Bonnie Johnson; his brothers Alfred Jr., Fred, David, and Robert; and his grandson Christopher.
Jon will be remembered for his giving heart, steadfast faith, and love for his church family at South Broken Arrow Baptist Church. His kindness, humor, and strength touched all who knew him.
A service honoring Jon's life will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 30, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Following the service, a reception will be held at South Broken Arrow Baptist Church, 7815 S Elm Place, Broken Arrow, OK 74011.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon's name to Folds of Honor, an organization he deeply respected.
