Jonathan Derek Powers' Obituary
Jonathan Derek Powers, known by many as JP, 46, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jonathan was born on March 11, 1977, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William Houston and Elizabeth “Betty” Nadine (Hulsey) Powers. He had spent the last ten years as a loan assistant with the Altier Mortgage Team. Jonathan married the love of his life, Melanie, on April 3, 2021. He was a devoted husband and caretaker for their three furry rescues. Jonathan was loving, kind, honest, caring, and always sympathetic to others. He was intelligent and challenged others’ thoughts, on many occasions, while listening and striving for each to leave with a different and positive perspective. He was an amazing friend to many, most for over 20 years. He leaves behind unforgettable memories and lively stories. He will be missed by his loving wife and family, many devoted friends, and individuals who know and loved him.
He is survived by Melanie Powers, her son Ryan Kamm, and his brothers Jason Powers of Collinsville and Gary Powers of Tulsa and many loving family members. Jonathan is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Mike Powers of Inola.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 2, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at Studio 308, 3088 S Lansing Rd, Tulsa, OK, 74120.
