Joseph L. Cox's Obituary
Early in the morning of November 4, 2012, the Lord called his faithful servant, Joseph L. Cox, to his home in heaven. Joe was born December 12, 1932, in Trinidad, Texas, to Aubrey Lee Cox and Vera (Hagle) Cox. He graduated from La Vega High School in Waco, Texas in 1950 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 where he served for four years as an aircraft mechanic. He married the love of his life, Zagnona Richardson, on December 22, 1958. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1959. Joe joined Borg Warner Corp. in June, 1959 and worked with the Byron Jackson Pump Division for 21 years in Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto, Canada, Victoria, Australia, and Tulsa. He worked for the Hughes Tool Company for eight years as a Group Vice President and as President of Centrilift Hughes in Claremore, OK. He retired from Hughes in 1988 and purchased and managed HydroHoist Boat Lifts in Claremore, OK. He sold HydroHoist and retired in 2006. Joe was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a long time, active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Seekers Community. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Zagnona, of almost 54 years; his son Clifford and wife Robin, of Austin, TX, and their two children, Jordan and her husband David, and Mitchell; his son, Craig and wife, Diana of Dallas, TX, and their two children Aidan and Alexandra; and daughter Caryn and her husband Scott Brown, and their two sons Gus and Oscar. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Cox of Waco Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Mason Chapel of Asbury UMC.
