Joshua E. Hibbets' Obituary
Joshua Elias Hibbets ran to Jesus on February 14, 2016. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Joshua had touched in so many special ways. Although Joshua only lived 13 short years, he touched many lives with his wonderful smile and glow of God. That smile shined with God’s love and ministered to so many. Over and over the testimonies have been shared that his wonderful attitude and love for others has made an impact. With Joshua’s flight home, we are all reminded that life is truly to be celebrated. Joshua did that in so many ways. Whether he was watching football, enjoying music, or laughing until the hiccups arrived, his enjoyment of life everyday was a treasure. Joshua is survived by his parents: Dr. David (DO) and Dr. Aleecia (PhD) Hibbets; one sister, Jayden; two brothers, Gabriel and Evan; Maternal grandparents: Gary and Patti Roshto; Paternal grandparents: Ronnie and Teresa Hibbets; one great grandmother, Albertia Roshto; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joshua was preceded in death by great grandparents: Walter Roshto, Edith Grover, Tony & Mavis Hughes; Ivan and Vera Hibbets; Ruby Clark; Townsen Stinson; Margaret Roshto Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16 from 4-8pm at Memorial Drive Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A balloon releasing ceremony will be Wednesday morning at 10am central time, broadcast live on Periscope (@hibwraps). Funeral service and burial will take place in Monroe and West Monroe, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting balloons, one of Joshua’s favorite things. Memorials can be made to the PMD Foundation (pmdfoundation.org) or PMD Family Support (pmdfamilysupport.com).
