Joshua McLaughlin's Obituary
Joshua McLaughlin, born June 25, 1985, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on September 8, 2025, in his hometown.
Josh was the beloved son of Michael and Kellie McLaughlin, and a cherished brother, uncle, and friend to many. Known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up any room, Josh had a unique way of making people feel at ease — and more often than not, had them laughing until they cried.
An avid gamer, Josh built lasting friendships across the country and beyond through Discord, where his clever humor and genuine nature made him a favorite in every chat. Whether online or in person, Josh had a heart of gold and a personality that drew people in. He loved being with others, and people naturally loved being around him.
Josh’s creativity and love for fun extended to food — he helped create the iconic “Popper” hotdog with the Tulsa-based company The Dogfather, blending his playful spirit with a flair for flavor. It was one of many ways he left his mark on the world.
To his nieces and nephews, Josh was more than just family — he was a legend. Known affectionately as “Uncle Woo,” and “Uncle Woah” to his nephew Daxton, Josh was the kind of uncle every kid dreams of: playful, kind, hilarious, and endlessly present.
Josh’s memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, connection, and unforgettable moments.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kellie McLaughlin, sister Jennifer Dunlap, brother Jared McLaughlin and wife Porsche, nieces and nephews, Wendy Dunlap, Max Dunlap, Alex Dunlap, Alexia McLaughlin, Daxton McLaughlin, Luke McLaughlin, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
