Josie Estella Glanville's Obituary
Josie Estella Glanville was born February 24, 1913 in Wichita County, Kansas and passed away November 6, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Josie was the 8th of 10 children born to James and Estella Wilson. Josie grew up on a farm where she learned strong work ethics. Josie grew up in a time when you had to walk two miles to school or if weather was bad enough you would go on the horse and buggy. In 1933 Josie was married to her childhood friend and neighbor growing up, Henry Burns. Together the couple had two children, Thomas and Betty. Josie spent much of her life working hard on the farm; she drove the tractors, worked the fields and gardens and always canned her own food. After several years on the farm, the couple moved their family to California where Josie would become a teacher. Josie was so dedicated to teaching that she went back to school at Long Beach State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Josie taught school for over 18 years in California before she moved back to Oklahoma. After Henry passed away she later married Johnny Glanville, they enjoyed each others company for several years. Josie played music on the piano, mandolin, guitar and a musical saw. Josie was such a hard working lady that she even planned on opening her own home based business when she turned 90. Those closest to Josie will always remember her for her strong work ethics, determination with any en-devour she perused. Josie will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. There will be a Celebration of Life Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow
