Joy Chandler
Joy Chandler, 81, passed away on April 12th, 2026 at her home in Bixby. Her Celebration of Life will be held at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow on Tuesday, April 21st 2026 at 10 am.
Joy was born January 21st, 1945, in Greensboro, North Carolina. She had a life-long career in banking, beginning out of high school, and then working many wonderful years at Bank of Oklahoma as Vice President and Branch Manager at the Downtown Tulsa BOK Tower.
Joy was a loving daughter, wife, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed with family, friends, and neighbors who cared for her deeply.
She and her husband, the late Richard B. Chandler, loved to celebrate the 4th of July with an annualneighborhood parade and picnic.
Her parents, Herman and Martha Clark of Greensboro, NC, and her husband Richard B. Chandler of Tulsa, preceded Joy in death.
She leaves behind her stepdaughter, Elisabeth Schwerzel and husband George, their daughter Olivia and fiancé Ryan and their four children; her stepson R. B. Chandler, Jr. and wife Beverly and their son Ricky, wife Lara and their two children; her stepson William R. Chandler and wife Carrie, their son Austin and wife Ann; son Drake, and daughter Laura and her son.
The family will miss Joy’s smile, kindness, friendship, and laughter.
We find comfort in knowing she is with Our Heavenly Father.
