Joyce Ann Meltzer's Obituary
Joyce “Joi” Ann Meltzer born on August 16, 1943 passed away on October 17, 2017. Joi was the older child of William Hudson and Josephine Layman Horner. She grew up in Tulsa along with her brother; Thomas Smith Horner. She is survived by son Paul Meltzer and his wife Nanette Meltzer, son Ron Eddington and his wife Teresa Eddington, mother Josephine Thompson and grandsons Tanner Kennedy and Tyler Erter. Joi attended Will Rogers High School and earned a B. A. and M.H. in industrial organizational psychology from the University of Tulsa. She was a member of the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian church. She went to Russia and Costa Rica on mission trips as well as helping with projects for the mentally ill. She also helped paint murals in a childcare nursery and served as an associate docent at Philbrook after enjoying years of touring the museum. Joi returned to school to learn to paint, discovered a passion for painting and won many awards for her work. Joi loved gardening, art, interior decorating, travel, and dancing.
