Joyce "Ray" Miller's Obituary
Joyce “Ray” Miller, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on December 22, 1932, in Apache, Oklahoma, to Gabriel Ernest Miller and Verna (Bell) Miller.
Ray was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud veteran. On May 12, 1952, he married the love of his life, Shirley Joan (Tibby), in Tampa, Florida. Together, they built a home centered on love, laughter, and family—a foundation that remained his greatest pride throughout his life.
A proud member of the United States Air Force, Ray served his country with honor and dedication. Beyond his service, he was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He found happiness in making others laugh and never missed an opportunity to brighten someone’s day.
In his younger years, Ray enjoyed playing softball, and later in life, he spent many days golfing and bowling. He also found great fulfillment in coaching his children’s baseball and basketball teams, where he not only shared his love of sports but also instilled important values such as teamwork, perseverance, and character.
Above all, Ray was a proud and dedicated father who was always present for his children, offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. His family was his greatest priority, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Joan Miller; his three children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Veterans Field of Honor, Phase 2.
Ray’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
