Joyce Annette Rogers-Thompson's Obituary
Joyce Annette Dobbins Rogers-Thompson went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2025 at 12:11 PM at the age of 89.
Joyce was born on June 19, 1935 south of Coweta, OK to Raymond Frederick Dobbins and Lola Mae (Brown) Dobbins. Her childhood was spent in the Coweta-Broken Arrow area. Joyce graduated from the Coweta High School in 1953.
After graduation, Joyce began working at the Gardner Canning Company where she met the love of her life, Raymond Rogers and were later engaged to be married. She later became employed at the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association. She then began ironing for the public so she could be a stay-at home mom and a great loving homemaker. She also was a faithful member of her church.
Joyce was married to Raymond Eugene Rogers on April 17h, 1954 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In August of 1955 their first child, Treba Rae, was born. Marlena Annette and Elisa Diane were born into the family a few years later and this completed a happy home of five.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Rogers, her husband, Charles Thompson, her parents, Raymond Dobbins and Lola McCully, and her sister, Ramona Rhoads.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Treba Rae Hudson and her husband, Danny of Tulsa, OK. Marlena Annette Perry and her husband Randy of Sapulpa, OK. Elisa Diane Rogers-Lane and her husband, Bob of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren Micah Dean Perry and wife, Rachel, Maranda Annette Snell and her husband Ryan, seven great grandchildren, Isaiah, Kiersten, Ian, and Kerrigan Perry, Madelyn, Mason, and Avila Snell. She is also survived by a sister Nancy Brooks, a brother Richard Dobbins, a brother Michael Dobbins, a sister Linda Dobbins as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and other family.
In the last 19 months, Joyce would mention "Going Home". She did not want to be 90 years old and God granted her request. She has been reunited with her Raymond and she is now HOME! "What a Glad Reunion Day"!
Visitation will be Sunday, June 1st from 3-5 P.M. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 2nd, 2025 at 12:30 P.M. at the Floral Haven Funeral Chapel, 6500 South 129th East Ave. Broken Arrow, OK.
Rev. Leon Rich, Rev. Randy Perry, Bob Lane, Rev. Micah Perry, Rev. Danny Hudson will be officiating.
Pallbearers are Isaiah Perry, Ryan Snell, Michael Dobbins, Danny Dobbins, Todd Thompson, and Trevor Metheny.
Honorary Pallbearers are Micah Perry, Ian Perry, Mason Snell, Bob Lane, Randy Perry and Danny Hudson.
Burial will follow at the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Devotion.
