Juanita Mae Brown's Obituary
Juanita Mae Brown, age 90 years, passed from this life January 24, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Juanita was born May 17, 1925, to Parrot Homer and Alma (Stanley) Brown, at the Catoosa Village, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Juanita was fondly known as “Granny” Brown to everyone that knew her. She wore many hats. She began and ended her career with her main love, working for the Lord, in any capacity, cook, nursery director at the Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church. Granny Brown was a cook at Falls Creek every summer, sometimes for every session of that year.Granny was a rosey rivitor for McDonnel Douglas during the war. She will be dearly missed by her children: Gary Brown, Dr. Craig Brown and wife Debbie, Jerry Brown and wife Janet, and Carla Brown Skora; grandchildren: Jason Brown, Dr. Michelle Seavey and husband Dr. Jonathan Seavey, Stephanie Brown, Aaron Brown and wife LaShawna, Aimee Cooper and husband Kelly, Tiffany American Horse, and Jennifer Lofton and husband Heath; greatgrandchildren: Emmy Kay Fowler, James Warfield American Horse, Jenna Brown, Jessica Brown, Katie Brown, Greyson Seavey, Luke Lofton, and Gabriel Lofton; sister-in-law: Charlene Brown; nieces: Beverly Vogel, Claudia Crafts, and Patsy Lackey; and nephews: Michael Lucas, Dale Brown, Stanley Brown, Danny Collins, Bill Collins and Kenneth Collins. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband of 56 years, Ray Brown; sisters: Ella Mae Brown, Mabel Harbour, and Helen Shields; and brother: Alva “Bud” H. Brown; and niece: Barbara Brown. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Room, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of life funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
