Juanita Cole Moore's Obituary
Juanita Cole Moore of Jenks, OK joined her heavenly Father on July 12, 2026. She was surrounded by her family as she joined her husbands and two daughters on those streets of gold.
Juanita was born December 27, 1932, at Morningside Hospital in Tulsa, OK to parents Albert Cole and Josie Mae (Ellsworth) Scott. Juanita was the oldest girl and spent her youth dutifully and joyfully helping raise her younger siblings. Joe, Timmy, Mary and Judy were surrounded by their sister’s love throughout their childhoods. She loved to sew, and spent her days learning a craft she would enjoy the most of her life.
Juanita completed 11th grade before she left home to start a family of her own. Juanita married her lifetime love, Clifford Lee Moore on February 7, 1953 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. She and Clifford had three daughters, Terry, Tonia, and Lee Anna and raised them in Tulsa, OK. It was during the early years raising children of her own she discovered the redeeming power of her Lord and Savior and was saved and joined the church. She delighted in being a mother, homemaker, and working in Oak Ridge and Beaver Street Baptist Church. She spent summers teaching Vacation Bible school, and loved to work in the nursery, and nurture other member’s children. She spent her time making her daughter’s formal dresses, wedding dresses for neighbors and friends, and blankets and larger projects for family. She put her love and servitude into each stitch.
Later in life, she and Clifford settled in Jenks, OK. Juanita had the opportunity to rear another grand-daughter, Anqunetta (AQ) as her own along with her brother Jacob , which she did with all her tenderness, and she demonstrated her faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord. Juanita believed strongly in education, and to set an example, as she had even went back to school completed her education obtaining her GED. Juanita joined Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks, where she spent the rest of her life as a member, and faithful servant. She continued to minister to those in need in her church, taking many to and from doctor’s appointments and helping them run errands. Juanita took joy in helping others, taking care of her family, and using her community minded focus to make a difference. She even joined them at Falls Creek Baptist Church Camp, in Davis, OK as a cook, pouring her love into hungry campers.
Juanita enjoyed shopping, her Fridays at the beauty shop, and her time with devotionals and the Bible. She and Clifford enjoyed the time that had with their grandchildren Isaac, Jacob, Amie, Brittany, Lou Ann and Anqunetta, and were regular fixtures at events they were involved in. She loved hummingbirds and butterflies, and she continued to stitch away her time. Juanita was with her husband Clifford, as he passed into the arms of God in 2010. Even without her beloved husband, Juanita lived a full life, continuing to take on new challenges and helping others.
Juanita will be remembered for her love of her community, her ministry of serving others, and the love with which she cared for her family. She will also be remembered for her devotion and dedication to God, and she was forever thankful for her redemption through Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a much loved Toppy, Mom and Granny.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Josie Scott and Albert Cole, husband Clifford Moore, daughters Terry Winston, and Lee Anna Moore, brothers Joe and Timothy Cole, nephews Joe Cole, Jr., Richard Cole, and Stephen Brown, and nieces Diane Cole, and Judith Bowman.
Juanita is survived by her sisters: Mary Brown of Leawood, KS, Judy Clark of Ashland, AL, daughters: Tonia Turner of Jenks, OK, and Anqunetta Matthews of Broken Arrow, OK. She is also survived by grandchildren: Isaac Winston of Oklahoma City, OK, Jacob Ballinger of Vine Grove, KY, Amie Brownlee of Oklahoma City, OK, Brittany Winston of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lou Ann Bales of Kellyville, OK. Great-grandchildren: Ethan Winston, Ariana Leto, Jason Ballinger, Theodore and Calista Brownlee, Chaun Cordray, Cadyn and Jayde Bales. Great-great grandchildren: Theodore and Isabella Leto, Hannah Cordray and Liam Brownlee. As well as grand pups: Marley and Mingo Matthews.
Family will have a Celebration of Life service in memory of Juanita at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks, OK on July 17th 2026 at 10:30am.
