Juanita Virginia Simpson Ford's Obituary
Juanita Virginia Simpson-Ford, beloved mother, step mother, grandmother, step grandmother, great grandmother, step great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Born Monday, October 16, 1922 in Hackett, Arkansas to her loving parents, James & Lura Pearl (Pittman) Raburn; after a long, full life, Juanita passed went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at age ninety-four years old; leaving behind a large circle of family and friends who loved her dearly. Originally from Hackett, Arkansas; Juanita and her family relocated to Tulsa when she was very young. Growing up in Tulsa, Juanita attended school in Tulsa until the tenth grade. At age eighteen on May 30, 1940 she married Harold B. Simpson and before her beloved husband was called to serve his country in the Second World War they decided they wanted to have a child in late that year of 1941. In August 1942 they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl; Juanita raised their daughter for the over three years anxiously awaiting her beloved husbands return home from war. Upon her husband’s return home they planned a new addition to their family and in June 1947 they were blessed with a second daughter. For the next several years their little family was taught about love, the importance of family and the grace of God. With every weekend spent in fellowship with their extended family. In 1968 Harold became ill and for seven plus years Juanita was his loving wife, nurse and caretaker until after their thirty-five years of marriage her beloved husband passed in December 1975. After a few years Juanita met and married Troy O. Ford in June 1977 and gained two step daughters and later two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Juanita was fondly and lovingly taken in by Troy’s family and friends and enjoyed going on trips with Troy’s sister. Eventually Juanita and Troy retired to an acreage in Tahlequah, and each evening she would read the bible aloud to her loving husband Troy. For thirty-eight years Juanita was a loving, caring and devoted wife to Troy until Troy’s passing in December 2015. Juanita is preceded in death by her beloved husband Troy O. Ford; her beloved first husband Harold B. Simpson; her loving parents, James R. & Lura Pearl (Pittman) Raburn; her dear brother, Randy Raburn and her dear sister, Betty Lou (Raburn) Alcorn. Juanita is survived by her loving daughters, Carolyn Sue (Simpson) Witt and Linda Marlene (Simpson) McFarland; her loving step daughters, Geraldine (Ford) Gibson and Debbie (Ford) Graham; her four dearly loved grandchildren; her two dearly loved step grandchildren; her eight great grandchildren; her three dearly loved great grandchildren; her one dearly loved great-great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends. Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 11:30AM to 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel.
