Judith Wayne Chennault's Obituary
Judy Lingenfelter Chennault was born in Claremore April 17, 1943, to Rev. Harold and Wayne Lingenfelter. She passed away June 6, 2015, in the St. Francis Hospital of Tulsa at the age of 72 after a more than year-long battle with cancer.Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Lingenfelter, and sister-in-law Pat Lingenfelter. She is survived by her husband John of the home, daughters Kristi of Tulsa, and Misti Cussen and husband Kyle and his parents Jim and Betty Cussen, all of Broken Arrow. Brother Jim Lingenfelter of Sugar Land, Texas. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Henry Chennault and wife Maxine of Aiken, SC. Granddaughters Cassie and Caia Cussen of Broken Arrow. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members.Judy was a 1961 graduate of Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth where she was the valedictorian of her class and also wrote the school’s Alma Mater. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University on a music composition scholarship, was a member of the Bisonette Glee Club, Sigma Alpha Iota (a national honorary music society), and Alpha Lambda Delta. Always the perpetual senior, because she never got to finish her degree.On August 9, 1963, Judy married Rev. John Chennault. In the first years of marriage, she taught piano in the home, sewed many of the girls’ clothes, and directed the church choir for a period of time in their first pastorate. She also directed numerous youth choirs, a special ensemble in their last church, and accompanied various instrumentalist in state competitions. Always an active sponsor with youth groups in the early years. She taught young women’s Bible classes and became a women’s conference leader. She was spiritually gifted with insight, discernment, and wisdom. Family was of supreme importance to her. Through her months of chemotherapy, she always found someone to share Jesus with. Even in her last hospital stay, she was thrilled to share Jesus with one of her night nurses. She was the consummate funnel of sharing truth to anyone who would listen.Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family to greet friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will take place in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens on June 10, 2015 at 9:00 am with Judy’s Memorial Service following at 10:00 am, June 10, 2015 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.Contributions can be made in Judy’s Honor to Global Missions at 1st Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 100 W Albany, 74012, or at Voice of the Martyrs, PO Box 443, Bartlesville, Ok 74005.
